Model | RV-7 |

Description | I adjusted this model from another RV-7 I found in the Hangar. I have built a real RV-7 and am flying it. Among the changes: Created a new wing with airfoil to match the real one, with wing tips to match newer style Van's wingtips as best I could. Adjusted wing incidence and dihedral to match the real dimensions. Added control surfaces, except rudder. Adjusted vertical stabilizer/rudder to match right offset of the real one. Adjusted propeller plan and dimensions to match Whirlwind 200RV propeller. Adjusted landing gear strut, fairing and tire geometry. Added tailwheel strut and wheel. (Strut has a funny looking "flare" as an attempt to approximate the drag of the tailwheel fork.). Adjusted fuselage shape and dimensions against three-view. Slight adjustments to empennage positions, planforms and tips. There is still some work to do to add a rudder, but have reached a point of vanishing returns; it has served its purpose. There is also no provision for engine cooling drag. |
