Description | This is my first design in OpenVSP. I am a fan of gliders with or without a propulsion system. Until now I only designed model planes with a T ruler (basically using descritptive geometry principles) or freehand drawings, but computer modelling makes work more efficient and all those sketches or plans can be visualized quicker in 3D before building the actual model plane. I thought of a wide wingspan with a relatively small width airfoil section (typically for gliders) to provide a more than sufficient lift for the model. For the roll stability I added a dihedral angle and the section of the airfoil is similar to what I`ve seen on old blueprints back in the day. Some dimensions/variables used are set (the ones I could understand anyway) but the design as a whole is a projection of the imagination and free play with the adjustable values within the program. Thank you! |
Source Quality |
5 - The source material used to create this model was Completely Inaccurate. This means the creator thought of the vehicle or part as he or she made the model, but did not use any pictures or drawings and had no dimensions.
