Description | This is a fictional design of a single aisle supersonic airliner that is designed for a cruising speed of Mach 3. The estimated capacity is around 210. It incorporates the results of recent studies on low boom, such as Gulfstream's Quiet Spike. The shallow nose angle meant that NASA's XVS system was used instead of a front windshield. I've only started using openVSP for a few months so I didn't know how to make the proper engine nacelles, but it's meant to have a turbofan on either side of the aft fuselage (on top of the wing), with S ducts starting under the wing. (Imagine a larger version of the YF-23's propulsion system) Feel free to download. It would be really nice if someone could do the engine ducts. Dihedrals and strakes may be added in the future. |
