Description | Created this to assist some grad students with a conceptual study on the Skylon launch vehicle at UTA. Model dimensions based on 3 views from the 2014 Skylon user's manual. Has a rough estimate of main propellant tanks but requires more work before analysis on weight and balance. Modeled the flaps and vertical to be rotated. Some rotation issues with the flaps, but decent for small angle deflections. Canard is single section and could be rotated for control analysis however check rotation centers. Assumed biconvex airfoil on all surfaces with default 10% thickness (it lined up well on the drawings). No fuselage/wing fairing modeled, check front view from users manual for verification. |
Source Quality |
